Tarasaigh House Terms and Conditions

1. Reservations and Payment

Bookings made through our online booking system are provisional until the holiday dates are confirmed. Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under eighteen years of age.

Online bookings are secured with a deposit of 20%. Payment of the deposit is taken as acceptance of our Terms and Conditions.

The remaining balance of payment is to be paid no later than 8 weeks prior to arrival date. Bookings made within 8 weeks of the arrival date are payable in full.

We also add a refundable security deposit to your booking as insurance against any damage to the property during your stay with us. This amount will be shown as an addition to the standard tariff on your booking and will be refunded to you within 7 days of the end of your holiday, less the cost of damage/breakages.

2. Arrivals & Departures

Tarasaigh House will be ready for guests from 4pm on the date of arrival.

The property must be vacated by 10am on the date of departure. Failure to do so may result in you being charged a further day’s rental.

The property should be left clean and tidy, and any damage must be reported prior to departure. If the property is left in a dirty or inappropriate manner, this may result in an additional cleaning surcharge, and we may withhold the refund of the security deposit for this purpose.

3. Occupancy

The maximum number of persons occupying the property must not exceed 8, including children.

Bookings are non-transferable and Tarasaigh House cannot be sub-let.

Please be advised that no extra overnight visitors are allowed to stay at the property.

A maximum of two well behaved dogs are welcome for an additional charge at Tarasaigh House. It must be noted on the booking form.

Bookings from guests with pets are accepted on the understanding that all flea and worming treatments are up to date. Dogs must not be allowed on the furniture and have to be kept in the utility-kitchen-living rooms. They should not be left unattended at any time. Dog owners are also responsible for removing any fouling from around the property and we reserve the right to charge for any damage caused or extra cleaning needed. We ask guests to ensure dogs are kept on a lead where livestock are present and particularly during lambing season; we ask all visitors to respect the local community and to adhere to any notices on crofts regarding dogs.

If you notice something is missing or damaged in your accommodation, please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. If there has been any damage or breakages during your stay, we ask you to report them promptly, especially before check-out.

Guests are responsible for and have to pay for any damage they or their guests (including pets) cause to the property, its contents or surroundings. We may withhold the refund of the security deposit for any loss, damage or extra cleaning costs. These are to be paid for in full within 7 days of notification.

If damage occurs and the owner must cancel and/or refund subsequent bookings, the owner may bring a claim against you for any loss arising as a result.

7. Essential Maintenance

We or our representatives reserve the right to enter the property at any time to undertake essential maintenance, repairs or for inspection purposes.

8. Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be notified by email. Once we receive this notice, the booking will be cancelled, and the dates will be released from the calendar.

If we are unable to re-let the property for the same dates, cancellation costs will be incurred as follows:

  • More than 8 weeks before booking commences: your deposit will be forfeited.
  • Less than 8 weeks before booking commences: you will be liable for the full cost of rental (i.e. deposit & full balance).

If we are successful in getting a replacement booking, we will refund the total amount paid less a 5% booking fee and any difference in price between your original and the replacement booking price.
